ST AUSTELL defeated Western Counties West title rivals Wellington 15-14 in a pulsating Tregorrick Park clash on Saturday.

In one of only a handful of matches to go ahead across the West Country as Storm Dennis batted the region, Saints and Welly did not disappoint in a game that had just about everything.

Trailing 14-10 in injury time, Cavan Boyer slid over to score the match winning try for Saints who leapfrog Welly into top spot.

In this week's Voice, we have a full match report and pictures. There is also the view of Saints player-coach Kyle Marriott, plus our take on how this match saw rugby as the real winner, after a tumultuous past week for the sport on these shores.
